You're right that "rocking a million faces" is pretty hilarious sounding...and differently weird as the verb "to rock" has shifted a bit. Reading it now made it sound like he *tried on* a million faces (maybe metonymy--or something--for personalities or psyches or something) and was great at being all of them. Which is either some crazy sci-fi or the premise for some kind of psychological novel. Or maybe both?
