Join us for Four Days of Writing Workshops
Six spots remain for The Habit's Colorado Workshop Week, September 14-18
If you have a draft that is ready for fresh eyes and honest feedback, I hope you’ll join us for The Habit’s Colorado Workshop Week, September 14-18 at the Glen Eyrie Castle in Colorado Springs.
This is a working retreat devoted to workshopping and polishing a completed draft of an essay, short story, or book chapter. Here’s how it will work:
You will submit your manuscript (up to 8000 words) a month ahead of the retreat.
You will be in a cohort of 8-10 writers; before the retreat, the submitted pieces will be distributed to everybody in the cohort to read and take notes on.
During Workshop Week, each morning the cohort will discuss two or three colleagues' pieces, providing detailed feedback. So you will be "on the hot seat" receiving feedback for 60-90 minutes one of the four mornings, and the other three and a half morning sessions you will be giving feedback. As counterintuitive as it sounds, writers grow as much from giving good feedback as from receiving it.
In the afternoons you will be free to write, socialize, and/or enjoy the incredible natural settings of Glen Eyrie and its environs. I'm planning evening activities that will be enriching, inspiring, and fun.

Registration is limited to 20 writers. Fourteen of those spots are taken already, but we still have six spots available. To find out more, and secure your spot, click the button below.
Thanks, and I hope to see you in Colorado—
